The extraction of nitric acid from chloride-nitrate solutions simulating solutions that result from eudialyte breakdown with hydrochloric acid after extractive recovery of rare-earth elements was studied. A general flowsheet was suggested for the extraction of rare-earth elements from chloride solutions and utilization of nitrate ions as concentrated solutions of nitrates used in recycling.
