摘要
This research aims to examine how social policies -considering income transfers, employment programs and pension and retirement income- affected the income distribution in the Greater Buenos Aires (Argentina) during the last two decades. To that end, a decomposition analysis of the Gini coefficient is presented. Data come from a household survey blown as Encuesta Permanente de Hogares (EPH), carried out by the National Institute for Statistics and Censuses (INDEC) focused on the Greater Buenos Aires (GBA). The evidence presented reveals the limits that redistributive social policies face to resolve by themselves, the structural inequalities from the productive system and the labor market.
