摘要
This paper will report on the raman spectroscopy study of carbon nanotubes prepared from palm oil as the precursor, ferrocene as the catalyst and Ni as the carrier gas by using the aerosol-assisted double furnace chemical vapor deposition (AADFCVD) system. Small diameter singlewall carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) and multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were synthesized from this method at various deposition temperature ranging from 700-900 degrees C. Black substances collected from the furnace's tube were then characterized. Field emission scanning electron microscopy was used to obtain the image of CNTs which showed different structures and diameters of CNTs relative to the deposition temperature of furnace. Raman Spectroscopy was used to further study the crystallinity and identification of samples. Energy dispersive X-ray was then used to further study the weight percentage and identification of samples.
