Boundary Artifacts Removal of Synthesis View by Pre-filtering the Texture Image in 3D Video

摘要
In 3D video systems, texture image of reference view may include blurred edges while the edges of depth image are often sharp. It induces artifacts in the generated synthesis view due to the inconsistency between the edges of the texture and depth images. We propose a new method to remove such boundary artifacts, which is achieved by pre-filtering the regions of the texture image near boundaries with the guidance of its associated depth image. Experiments show that the proposed method well removes the artifacts of the synthesis view.
