Energy Consumption and GDP: The Strong Relationship in OECD Countries

摘要
The aim of this article is to reexamine the relationship between energy consumption and economic growth for 22 Orginisation for Economic Co-operation and Development countries over the period 19602005 by taking strong relation into account. According to the results of fully modified ordinary least squares (OLS) and dynamic OLS approaches, while there exists the strong relation running from economic growth to energy consumption for most cases, the strongest relation running from energy consumption to economic growth is shown only for Iceland and Portugal.
