Thermodynamics of stress induced martensitic transformation: Application to Ni-Mn-Ga alloys

摘要
The thermodynamic theory developed in [6] is extended to describe the uniaxial stress induced cubic-tetragonal martensitic transformation. The theory is found to provide a good quantitative agreement with the experimentally observed sigma - T phase diagram of martensitic transformation exhibited by Ni-Mn-Ga alloys (sigma is the uniaxial compressive stress in [110] direction).
