Correlation between shear modulus and porosity in porous materials

摘要：
Correlation between shear modulus and porosity in porous materials was investigated using percolation model. The applicability of the model was demonstrated by fitting experimental data for various materials to the model. The porous materials were prepared from powders with various particle sizes and shapes. The value of the characteristic exponent for shear modulus for the investigated materials were found to be in the range of 1.00-1.40. The values of the characteristic exponent for shear and Young's modulus porosity dependence were not identical.
