摘要
A magnetic field optical fiber sensor based on Sagnac interference is proposed by inserting a silica tube filled with magnetic fluid into the Sagnac loop. The birefringence of the sensor is present in the loop, and the transmission spectrum as a function of the magnetic field intensity has been theoretically analyzed and experimentally demonstrated. The results show that the spectral response is proportional to the magnetic field ranging from 0 to 2500e with the maximum sensitivity of 0.006dB/Oe. This suggests that the proposed device could have various applications in optical fiber sensor and optical fiber communication.
