摘要
In recent years, the increasing power generation based on intermittent energy sources has affected power system stability and reliability. Battery energy storage systems are considered as one of the prominent solutions due to their capability of contributing to more efficient and stable power system. Therefore, the main emphasis in this paper is put on the investigation of their participation in frequency regulation and flexibility they can offer. Different scenarios are investigated taking into account uncertainties in wind power scheduling and generation. Finally, the economic performance of battery energy storage systems is investigated together with the influence of their size and lifecycle on the economic assessment.
