摘要
In this work, the synthesis and characterization of a magnetite (M) and beta-cyclodextrin (CD) complex is presented. The chemical bonding between the magnetite and CD was studied as evidence of host-guest interaction; therefore the CID works like a reactor with the magnetite inside of it, as consequence the growth of the particle is restricted by the electrostatic interaction of M-CD complex. The particle size of the magnetite-cyclodextrin complex (M-CD) decreased 79.1% with 0.5% of CID. The average particle size of the M-CD complex was 10 nm. The saturation magnetization (sigma(s)) and intrinsic coercivity (H-c) increased 10% and 20%, respectively. In order to understand how the the CD affects the results obtained, the second derivate of remission function was obtained from the ultraviolet-visible spectra (UV-vis). Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) was used to elucidate the interaction between the magnetite and CID. The thermal analysis was measured by thermogravimetric and differential thermal analysis (TGA-DTA). The magnetic properties, intrinsic coercivity (H-c) and the saturation magnetization were determined by vibrating sample magnetometry (VSM); the size and shape of nanoparticles were determined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The identification of phases was made by X-ray diffraction. Published by Elsevier B.V.
