摘要
Virtual Reality is gaining in popularity increasingly. It reduces training costs and costs incurred by building actual products in the design phase, reduces time-to-market, and increases competitive advantage, productivity, success rate of completing projects on time, safety-through training of surgeons on virtual bodies, simulations of automobile and airplane designs, etc However, its richness in representation and manipulation possibilities may also become one of its weaknesses. The techniques applied in such an environment take time, effort, and money to implement. Also some users may be overwhelmed and be easily lost in a virtual environment. Others may spend all their time on exploring features not relevant for their learning tasks. Therefore, being able to dynamically adapt the virtual environment to the personal preferences, prior knowledge, skills and competences, learning goals and the personal or social context in which the learning takes place becomes important. This is a study that represents the implementation of a framework that parses a design configuration in XML structure and executes adaptive creation in Second Life. Then it is described how this application can be applied in a learning activity designed in LAMS and extracted in XML format. Finally this work refers to the derived conclusions as well as some interesting points of research where future work can be concentrated.
