Quasi-one-dimensional transport near the ballistic limit

摘要
Electron conductance of a two-dimensional wire at low temperature is studied in a semiclassical approximation taking into account the angular dependences of the scattering potential. The length dependence of the conductance is found to be nonuniversal, especially in the ballistic transport regime. The angular distribution of the emitting electrons at the end of the wire shows dynamical narrowing by the scattering process in the wire.
