Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura: A report of two cases in Tunisia.

Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura is a rare but frequently fatal condition. Clinical presentations are multiple because of the variability in the extension of microangiopathic visceral thromboses. New insights into the etiopathogenesis of thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura have led to improved treatments. Two cases of thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura due to different causes are reported. The outcome was rapidly fatal in one patient, whereas the other recovered after treatment of the underlying condition.
