摘要：
This article reviews and summarizes what is known about the roles of hormones in leiomyoma growth. Discussed primarily are the roles of the sex steroid hormones estrogen and progesterone in leiomyoma pathophysiology and the relationship between these hormones and known leiomyoma growth factors. Also discussed are the lessons learned about leiomyoma growth from the sex steroid receptor modulators and antagonists and their potential therapeutic benefits.
