摘要
Nowadays, low power factor (PF) is a serious problem that has gained more importance in power electronics area. In this study, a unity PF control (UPC) strategy for boundary conduction mode (BCM) buck-buck/boost PF correction converter is proposed. The proposed control strategy can achieve high PF and low total harmonic distortion by utilising the input and output voltages to modulate the on-time of both buck and buck/boost switches. The operating principles and comparative analysis of BCM buck-buck/boost converter with conventional non-UPC and UPC are analysed. For verifying the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy, the experimental verifications are carried out from a 100W universal input prototype.
