This paper discusses questions of the practical fabrication of antireflection coatings for the optical elements of thermal viewers in two regions of the spectrum simultaneously: 3-5 and 8-12 mum, corresponding to the transmission windows of the atmosphere. (C) 2002 Optical Society of America.
