摘要
The study of coffee progenies behavior to Meloidogyne exigua resistance, under field conditions, is essential in coffee breeding programs. Thus, the aim of this study was to characterize and select genetic materials with good yield and resistance to M. exigua through evaluation of behavior of progenies derived from the cross between Timor Hybrid and Catuai cultivar in a nematode-infested area. Twenty three progenies and seven control cultivars were evaluated in a randomized block design, with four replicates, with a total of 120 plots and each plot constituted by eight plants. Yield was expressed in processed coffee bags ha(-1) evaluated at 2010/2011 and 2011/2012 harvests. In addition, the number of eggs g(-1) of roots (NEGR) and number of galls (NG) in 15 g of root material were evaluated during rainy (January) and drought (July) seasons of 2011. Through Pearson correlation analysis, we found that the M. exigua parasitism negatively influenced the yield and that positive correlation of high magnitude existed between NG and NEGR. The 436-1-4-C26, 514-7-14-C73, 514-7-4-C130, 493-1-2-C134, 514-7-16-C208, 493-1-2-C218 and 514-5-2-C494 progenies were resistant to M. exigua under field conditions.
