Research on the Integration Strategy for Chinese Government Supervision over Food Security

Recently, food security supervision department has been censured in China, due to the frequent occurrences of food safety incidents, which not only posed a serious threat to the human health and life, but also had an adverse effect on food credit, image of the government, social stability and harmony in China. Chinese supervision system of food security is a body of government with a single mode. This system exposes some pitfalls of supervision functions. Holistic governance is one of the modern management characteristics and future development trends of the government. How would a regulator play a part in food security facing the fragmentized situations of the food security supervision? Based on the theory of holistic governance, the integration of supervisory functions is an important method to solve food security issues for Chinese government at present.
