摘要
Mango panicles from four cultivars were found to have the same sex distribution pattern during their life spans. On the same panicle, the hermaphrodite flowers tend to open in a relatively high percentage at the early stage and the proportion of hermaphrodite flowers subsequently declines. There were less male flowers at the early stage with the majority of male flowers opened at the middle stage. 'Keitt' has the highest sex (hermaphrodite/male) ratio of 1.44, while 'Haden' has the lowest of 0.2. Under natural field conditions, the average natural fertilization percentage of the 34 hour-old flowers of the four cultivars was 10.7% with 'Haden' and 'Tsai-suan' being the highest of 12.2% and 12.7%, respectively.
