摘要
Globalization and global need: new imperatives for expanding international social work education in North America In light of global economic restructuring and its observable consequences this article argues that social work education and practice should be more international. A small survey of the international roles and activities of North American schools of social work is reported on, which describes the active international engagement of North American schools of social work. The data suggest questions about the values and goals which underlie these international initiatives and the benefits which derive from them. The exchanges described, which include cross-national research, pedagogical and other institutional linkages, could lead to collective, unified responses to the increasingly common human problems arising from the global socio-economic climate.
