摘要
The log-Weibull distribution is obtained when the logarithm of a nonnegative random variable follows the three-parameter Weibull distribution. This distribution has been used in other fields such as earthquake data analysis. This paper examines the possibility and appropriateness for it to be used as a lifetime distribution. Three examples are examined and the results support its use as a lifetime distribution. It is also shown that the log-Weibull distribution includes the Pareto distribution as its special case.
