摘要
In Mexico, there are very few investigations about students and the conditions in which their education path occur during their years at the university level. However, there are numerous doubts when we try to answer the following questions: why are they studying? How did they get in? What is their academic performance? The following research examines the educational paths of all graduates from the Computer Science Faculty in Mazatlan (Universidad Autonoma de Sinaloa) with the help of their overall performance and analyzing qualitative and quantitative factors such as their age, sex, high school general average, level of stress and learning styles. We would like this study to both guide us in choosing students who would like to study in Computer Science as well as be a fair tool of prediction for the academic performance of our students. Moreover, we use mathematical methods to compare numerous variables which affect the academic performance and we build a model to determine the probability of success.
