摘要
The first method for the reduction of esters using a high oxidation state oxo complex as a catalyst is reported. The system silane/MoO2Cl2 (5 mol%) proved to be very efficient for the reduction of aliphatic and aromatic esters to the corresponding alcohols in good yields. (c) 2006 Elsevier B.V.
