摘要:
The Weibull model is a well-known probability distribution function that uses only two adjustable coefficients, which have a certain mathematical meaning, and can represent a lot of different analytical behaviors. In this paper, we show that the Weibull model can be used to correlate the surface tension values of liquids. For that, we compare this model with the results given by the REFPROP computer program for 117 liquids. While the REFPROP program uses two to six adjustable coefficients depending on the fluid in question, what we propose here is the use of only one or two adjustable coefficients. We show that for 112 out of the 117 fluids the new correlation using two adjustable coefficients deviates by <2 % (absolute average mean deviation, AAD) from the correlations used in REFPROP. We also show that it is possible to apply just one adjustable coefficient for 63 fluids, with the AAD being below 1.7 % and the maximum deviation below 6 %.
