摘要
The health of the generators in a large power system needs to be monitored for necessary protective action. The present work uses rotor angle delta (delta(m)) estimated from the bus voltage and current phasors obtained from synchronized phasor measurements. Since the obtained data is voluminous the estimated data is reduced using principal component analysis (PCA) and based on similarity of data the generators are grouped using K-means clustering. The generator clusters are based on their degree of criticality so that commensurate action can be taken to protect the generators.
