摘要：

Comments of the taxonomical identity of Borreria valens (Rubiaceae) and description of Borreria orientalis, a new species from Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay. All analyzed materials of the new species were erroneously identified as Borreria valens. Therefore, the true identity of B. valens is discussed. As results, the last species is excluded from the Paraguayan and Argentinean flora and is restricted to the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil.
