摘要
It is well known that defining process parameters prior to the metal spinning process is very important due to obtaining accurate results and manufacturing with low cost. In this study, feed rate, material thickness and spindle speed in a spin forming process were investigated both numerically and experimentally. Material thickness results from the FEM analysis and from experimental studies were compared. The geometries and materials used in the experiments were numerically modeled and analyzed by simufact forming (R) software according to three different spindle speeds and feed rates processing conditions. The relation of stress, strain and wall thickness variation results of the analyses to the process parameters of feed rate and spindle speed were examined. The effect of feed rate was more prominent on wall thickness of workpieces rather than spindle speed. Furthermore, the variation of the axial and radial components of the spinning force over time has been investigated. Results of experiments and analyses were found in good agreement. Therefore, it was clearly shown that numerical analyses can be employed for the prediction of required initial parameters and final shape of workpiece.
