摘要
Wireless ad hoc networks are self-configuring networks that do not require predefined configuration and do not have fixed infrastructure. Mobile stations in wireless ad hoc networks move around in the networks and would require routing to handle the change of network topologies dynamically. Ad Hoc On-Demand Distance-Vector (AODV) protocol is a wireless ad hoc protocol that uses the distance vector to select routes. The Intelligent Wireless Ad hoc Routing (IWAR) protocol considers multiple parameters in selecting routes to distribute traffic among them. It uses two heuristic functions to evaluate these parameters and determine the routes to use. These parameters include bandwidth, packet delays, error rate and predicated node locations. This paper presents the experiment results of the AODV protocol and the IWAR protocol and compares the performance of the two protocols.
