摘要
Corrosion monitoring (CM), an important part of corrosion management in any plant, including corrosion control program, is used to pursue, detect, predict and prevent corrosion failure. CM must be planned and carried out at the stage of design in the project, which include taking ultrasonic thickness measurements in the vicinity of the CM points. It is important to use automated multi-technique monitoring capabilities. CM should be integrated with other plant programs designed to optimize the process conditions, injection of chemicals and inspection. Commercially on-line real-time monitoring systems based on electrochemical and physical chemical techniques are developed and introduced into practice. Some engineers have found these devices to be useful while others remain skeptical about their benefits.
