摘要
The use of the territory as a unit of analysis in studies about social determinants of health enables to link the geographical space with statistical alphanumeric databases in order to elucidate contexts of inequality or inequity in terms of health. This issue of paramount importance to epidemiology, public health and social sciences, requires the articulation of concepts, knowledge of analysis tools and understanding of the geometric and alphanumeric qualities of the territory as a unit of analysis. The present contribution is intended to help those who are initiated on this topic by addressing these three points of inquiry, allowing us to refer the state of the art on the subject.
