摘要：

Nasopharyngeal carcinoma is a nonlymphomatous, squamous cell carcinoma that originates in the epithelial lining of the nasopharynx. We report a case of intense In-111 octreotide uptake of an intracranial tumor situated in the base of the skull in a patient referred for scintigraphy for evaluation of a possible meningioma. The presence of an In-111 octreotide positive cervical node justified histologic diagnosis. Biopsies revealed an unsuspected nasopharyngeal carcinoma at the base of the skull. A cervical lymph node metastasis was confirmed by fine needle aspiration.
