摘要
The use of fibre-reinforced alkali-activated composites (FRAAC) is gaining huge attention recently due to their excellent performance coupled with its sustainable advantages. FRAAC uses alkali-activated binders as replacement of Portland cement in the composites resulting in a significant reduction of the embodied energy and carbon of FRAAC. As the applications and development of FRAAC are still emerging, it is pertinent to understand the effect of various parameters on its performance. Therefore, this study was undertaken to explore the effect of various parameters on the performance of FRAAC based on several studies that have been carried out. The performance of FRAAC was discussed in terms of its workability properties, mechanical properties and durability properties. This paper shows that FRAAC can be used as a sustainable and resilient building material for various construction applications where outstanding performance is desired. However, in order to achieve this; the composition of FRAAC such as the type of fibre and fibre dosage needs to be optimized.
