Survey of myeloblastoma with Ga-67 scan in a patient with acute leukemia

A 60-year-old woman with acute myelogeneous was in remission after three courses of chemotherapy leukemia, She also had a proven and symptomatic myeloblastoma in the sacrum, which was localized with Ga-67, Bone scan showed no abnormality, New areas of Ga-67 uptake appeared in the regions of the mandibul, neck, mediastinum, and right lower extremity and an open biopsy of the mass in the right lower leg confirmed another myeloblastoma. Ga-67 scan was useful in localizing the unsuspected sites of myeloblastic infiltration, monitoring the response to therapy, and identifying concurrent inflammatory disease.
