摘要
To deliver personal preventive services to the population, Japan introduced a new system of delivery using the existing system of social health insurance by health care reform in 2006. Insurers are responsible for the services delivery and are expected to have more active roles to effectively provide preventive services. The government established a national guideline for the services and grants subsidies to insurers. Meanwhile, performance-based financial incentives are introduced. Insurers are becoming more active to effectively provide preventive services. The new model is promising, but yet to be evaluated.
