Prenatal and postnatal morphometric studies of trachea in goat

摘要：

Pre-and post-natal morphometric studies were conducted on 36 goats. The foetuses were divided into 3 groups on the basis of CRL (crown rump length). The postnatal goats were also divided into 3 groups on the basis of age. In prenatal stage length of trachea measured 2.50 cm in group 1, increased to 10.82 cm in group 3. Cross- sectional area measured 2.30 mm(2) in group 1, increased to 6.50 mm(2) in group 3. Length and cross-sectional area revealed maximum increase by 332.80% and 182.60% in group 1 to 3 respectively. In postnatal stage the cross-sectional area of trachea measured 12.00 mm(2) in group 4, and increased to 185.00 mm(2) in group 6. The diameter of trachea measured 8.50 mm in group 4, and increased to 24.00 mm in group 6. Luminal cross-sectional area followed by diameter revealed maximum increase by 1441.66% and 182.35%, respectively, from group 4 to 6.
