摘要
The strength of composite structure is sensitive to the manufacturing variances like fibre orientation angle, thickness of the laminate and the volume fraction of fibre. In the present study, the effect of these parameters on the strength of the composite laminate and the optimum parameters for higher strength were observed using classical laminate theory. The optimum fibre orientation angle was found to be 55 degrees/- 55 degrees. The ideal thickness of the laminate is 0.2 mm and the volume fraction of the fibre in the composite is 0.53. The results of the effect of the fibre orientation angle on the strength obtained were validated using Autodesk Helius composite.
