摘要
The years of transition from Youth to adulthood Is characterized by the possibility to choose many possible life courses, resulting in different attributions of worry and importance to several life situations. Knowing what these attributions are, may help to identify potential-areas Of Vulnerability. The objective of this research is to study an Inventory designed to assess attributions Of Worry and valuing of many life aspects, prevalent in Youth during transition to adulthood. The Study was carried Out with 632 Portuguese, male, aged 18 to 2 1 (M= 19,28; SD= 1, 14), living in the district of Lisbon; 62.5% were active workers, 10.4% were unemployed and 27.1% were university students; 37.3% had a school level from 5 to 9 years, 35.6% from 10 to 12 years and 27.1% had university frequency. The Worries and Value Judgments Inventory for Youth is a self-report instrument divided in two parts: the first assesses worries (35 items) and another other valuations (30 items). The items are grouped under 13 themes or life dimensions. A Lickert type scale with five positions was used. The total score attributions added to the worries items allows the definition of a general worry level. Results show Cronbach Alpha reliability above 90 in both Inventory parts; a higher correlations of items with the theme to which they belong and a between judges agreement of 98.5% of items. This is a useful instrument for research and clinical fields that may be used to explore adaptation processes and risks presented by youth, during transition to adulthood.
