HSDPA with MIMO performance evaluation in multipath fading channel

摘要
In this paper the link level performance evaluation of High Speed Data Packet Access (HSDPA) with multiple antennas under multipath frequency selective fading channel is investigated. Impact of the key enabling technologies such as Adaptive Modulation and Coding (AMC), Hybrid Automatic Repeat reQuest (HARQ), Multi-Path Interference Cancellation (MPIC) as well as Space Time Coding (STC) architecture using the Vertical-Bell-labs-Layered-Space-Time (VBLAST) on HSDPA performance is analyzed under multipath frequency selective fading channel defined in UNITS standards. Simulation shows that MPIC is an efficient method to suppress the inter-channel, inter-path and inter-antenna interferences to improve the system throughput significantly especially in case of high code rate and high-order modulation and multiple antennas. HARQ combining schemes should also be changed in time according to different modulation and coding schemes (MCSs).
