摘要
This paper presents results of the experimental investigation on the tensile stress dependence of signal transmission of the magnetostrictive delay line based on amorphous ribbon. These results create possibility of novel application of the magnetostrictive delay lines for real-time monitoring of ceramic components. Such ceramic components are commonly used in machine industry, where real-time tool monitoring is required from the practical point of view. Experimental results presented in the paper indicate that the magnetoelastic wave amplitude decreases with the value of stresses in the rod. This creates possibility of application of the developed methodology for the real-time monitoring of ceramic components in machine industry. (c) 2008 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
