摘要
Declarative memory, including episodic and semantic memories, enables us to connect the present things with the past experiences. E1A binding protein p300 (EP300) and cAMP response element binding-binding protein (CREBBP), two important histone acetyltransferases (HATs) of KAT3 family, are involved in the development of cognitive aging such as the decreasing in episodic memory. However, no evidence suggested their potential roles in individual difference in declarative memories of youth. In the present study, we investigated whetherEP300andCREBBPgenes modulated individual difference in declarative memory among youth subjects by using Remember (R)/Know (K) paradigm. The results showed that rs4822004 inEP300modulatedRresponses (episodic memory) as controllingKresponses (beta = 0.076,R-2 = 0.385,F = 180.322,p = 0.020). Moreover, we also found that rs130032 inCREBBPalso modulated the performance ofRresponses after controllingKresponses (beta = 0.068,R-2 = 0.384,F = 178.483,p = 0.038). The study suggests thatEP300andCREBBPgenes contribute to the individuals' difference in episodic memory, which provides evidence on the roles of histone acetylation activity in human declarative memory.
