Spin and tail effects in the gravitational-wave emission of compact binaries

摘要
The rate of emission of gravitational energy from a gravitationally bound system consisting of two spinning point-like bodies is computed taking into account the spin-orbit coupling. By standard heuristic arguments an expression for the rate of decrease of the orbital period, P, is obtained. The effect of the spin-orbit interaction on the angular momentum loss is determined. An expression for the change in time of the observable timing eccentricity due to the spin-orbit interaction is derived. In completion of a previous paper, the effects of the gravitational-wave tails on the angular momentum loss and the timing eccentricity change are also computed.
