摘要：
The sympathetic nervous system of the heart is well known as a key modulator of cardiac physiology and electromechanical properties. Results of a wide spectrum of basic and clinical studies, as well as the therapeutic success of anti-adrenergic agents have provided proof that it plays an important role in the development and progression of cardiovascular disease. Yet, the quest for a better understanding of the clinical importance of the heart's nervous system continues, wherein novel approaches to guide and improve therapy for heart failure and ischemic heart disease are emerging.
