摘要
The further development of laser and intense pulsed light (IPL) systems has led to a continuously increasing spectrum of applications and treatment in medicine and to a simplification of the operability. This leads to an increase in the number of laser and IPL treatments worldwide and to an increase in the use by insufficiently trained personnel; however, if used incorrectly laser radiation can lead to damage to the patient and the user. Furthermore, every laser treatment even has mostly mild side effects but can also result in severe complications. It is obligatory to know these when applying a laser in order to minimize side effects and avoid complications.
