摘要
The "WiFi village" is a joint project of the public, civil and private sectors that provides individuals living in disadvantaged Hungarian settlements with second-hand, renewed PCs and internet access. The project aims to increase the social mobilization opportunities of youth in the region by providing them with digital equipment. Besides presenting the economical and social background of the target group of this initiative, the paper introduces the role of ICT in regional development. Although the social effects of this remarkable e-Inclusion project can not be widely seen as yet, the authors present two optional scenarios to illustrate possible outcomes of the project.
