On the Performance of Full-Duplex Decode-and-Forward Relaying over Nakagami-m Fading Channels

摘要
In this paper, we evaluate the outage probability and bit error rate (BER) performances of a three terminal fullduplex relaying (FDR) system with non-negligible residual self-interference (RSI). By investigating the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratios (SINRs) at the relay and the destination respectively, the exact outage probability and BER of decode-and-forward (DF) based FDR system over Nakagami-m fading channels are derived in closed-form. Then we corroborate our theoretical analyses with simulations under different conditions. The outage probability and BER performances for traditional half-duplex relaying (HDR) system are also simulated for comparison. It is shown that the theoretical analysis results match the simulation results perfectly. Moreover, the FDR is shown to outperform HDR in outage performance significantly as the target rate increasing for a given residual self-interference power, while HDR outperforms FDR for small target rate. The FDR is superior to HDR in the outage and BER performances in the low and moderate signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) region, while the converse is true in the high SNR region.
