摘要
This study examined the relations between intergenerational cultural conflict, parental social support, and subjective well-being in a sample of 78 Asian female college students. Specifically, this study investigated whether parental social support moderated and/or mediated the relationship between intergenerational cultural conflict and subjective well-being for Asian American and Asian international students. Regression analyses found that intergenerational cultural conflict was negatively related to parental social support and that parental social support was positively related to subjective well-being. Parental social support was found to function as a possible mediator between intergenerational cultural conflict and subjective well-being. ANOVA analyses also showed mean score differences on parental social support between Asian American and Asian international students. Limitations, future directions, and implications for counseling methods are also discussed.
