Principles of controlling fuel-element cladding lifetime in variable VVER-1000 loading regimes

摘要
The principles of controlling the lifetime of fuel-element cladding in variable VVER-1000 loading regimes are examined. The axial segment of fuel element cladding with the largest load is determined taking account of fuel-assembly rearrangements in the reactor core during a run and the arrangement of the control rods. It is shown that the fuel-element cladding lifetime must be controlled by optimizing the coolant temperature and the scheme of fuel-assembly rearrangements, which must be based on the optimal ratio of the fuel burnup and fuel-element cladding lifetime.
