摘要
Globalization and growing market competitiveness keep pressuring manufacturing firms to reduce costs and increase effectiveness, hence, improving condition based maintenance strategies may contribute to those aims. In this study we present a fuzzy early warning approach for improving pro-active Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) diagnostic strategies. The main objective is to provide early warnings on potential production line breakdowns or other hazardous situations, enabling more informed decisions on maintenance strategies. To demonstrate the approach usefulness, an illustrative example of a car production line is discussed.
