Liquid-liquid extraction of carrier-free radioisotopes produced in alpha-particle activated molybdenum target by HDEHP and TBP

摘要
Simultaneous production of carrier free isotopes like Nb-95,Nb-96, (TC)-T-93,94,95,96,99m and (94,95,97,103),Ru through the nuclear reactions (alpha, alpha pxn), (alpha, pxn) and (alpha, xn) has been performed by alpha-particle activation of a molybdenum target. The sequential separation of the produced radioisotopes From the bulk target matrix has been achieved through LLX using HDEHP and TBP as liquid exchangers. Formation of the carrier free radionuclides in the target matrix and their purity in different stages of separation have been verified by taking recourse to gamma-ray spectrometry.
