Hyperon production in Cu plus Cu collisions at √SNN=200 GeV from the STAR experiment

摘要
The degree of enhancement of strangeness production with different sizes of colliding nuclei over a range of energies has been a subject of interest for studies of dense partonic matter produced in nuclear collisions. We report the measurements of strange hyperon del, Xi, Omega and their anti-particles from Cu+Cu collisions atv root(NN)-N-S = 200 GeV by the STAR experiment. Nuclear modification factors (RCP) for these particles will be presented. The multi-strange hyperon production per participant nucleon for Cu+Cu will be compared with that from Au+Au and p+p collisions at the same centre-of-mass nucleon energy. Physics implications of the measurements will be discussed.
